Cormac Lowth is a well-known as a superb researcher, lecturer and writer on many aspects of Irish maritime History returns to Clontarf on Friday 26th January. This lecture will examine, Boat Building and the history of Ringsend and the Surrounding area with many rare images from the time. Cormac always delivers a great talk previously he has presented the Sinking of the Luisitania, a History of Dublin Bay, and The Sailing Smacks of Ringsend. This lecture is a continuation of the Ringsend Sailing trawlers talk No admission charge small donations to RNLI if desired.
CY&BC Social - Ukulele Nights - Starting Jan 23rd 8pm Are you interested in music? Would you like to be part of a ukulele group? A new ukulele group will be starting in CY&BC in 2018. All you need to join is a love for music. All levels are welcome including ukulele players and complete beginners. The first meeting will be on Tuesday 23rd January 2018 at 8:00pm. The Clontarf Hockey Club annual pub quiz is on in the Clontarf Rugby Club main bar on the 28th of January at 8pm. The price will be €10 per person and teams can be 4/5 members. There will be a raffle on the night and we currently have some excellent prizes such as a hamper of beauty products from Joanne Larby (The Make Up Fairy) to the value of €200 and an item from quack and dirk, with many more available on the night. Please spread the word to your non-hockey playing friends as this is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year. Hey folks, our first event of 2018 is our Annual Pub Quiz in Clontarf Rugby Club. We have 8 rounds of questions, from a number of topics lined up for you and I hope they're a healthy fix of infuriating and difficult... We'll be having a raffle on the night and we're currently in the process of gathering a lovely collection of prizes which can be won on the night. This is one of the club's biggest fundraisers and is open to all family and friends and anyone else who may be passing the rugby club at that team. PLEASE spread the word. Cost is €10 per person and teams can be 4/5 players. If you haven't got a team, just come on the night and I'm sure we can fit you in
