Great performance from our 1st team: Dominant victory for United over league leaders Templeogue United produced an opening 25 minute masterclass to stun division 1B leaders Templeogue earlier this morning at Ferndale Park. United’s attacking performance in the opening minutes saw them score 4 goals with no reply. Jay Snell put his side ahead on the 3rd Minute, firing beyond Templeogue’s keeper from a well delivered Niall Higgins corner. United continued to pile the pressure on Templeogue with some outstanding counter-attacking play. United doubled their lead with 12 minutes on the clock following with a thunderous strike from Jonny 22 yards out following some excellent work from Zach Kilbride and David O Neill. Three minutes later Quinn’s striking partner Zach Kilbride went one better with a goal of the season contender, an absolute belter of a shot from 25 yards just hit the underside of the cross bar. United made it 4 goals on the 22 minute, a fine pass found Higgins just inside the 18 yard box, Higgin’s superbly controlled the ball and a cynical handball by Templeogue’s right back saw United awarded a penalty. Up stepped Jonny Quinn to score his second for the afternoon and make it 4-0. United continued to create chances but against the run of play on the 33min a defensive error gifted Templeogue their first goal of the afternoon. Disaster struck a minute later when a Templeogue free-kick was not cleared and provided an easy opportunity for Templeogue to make it 4-2. United managed to make to half-time without conceding another goal despite some significant pressure. The second half saw United continue to dominate possession and create several chances. Calm heads in the back line thwarted the visitors. United continued to press and were unlucky on several occasions not to increase their lead. Fantastic win for United and they continue to climb the table with just only the one defeat so far this season.
Arklow United 2nd team continue there good form; Avonmore 3 Arklow united 7. A game that took united about ten minutes to get into without being under any real pressure. Anto Kelly broke the deadlock after 15 minutes with a tap in at the back post after a shot come cross rebounded into Anto's feet. Arklow started to dominate a very young avonmore side and it was soon 2. A cross from Drew O' Halloron found Alan Earls. 2nil. The 45th minute a harsh decision for handball got Avonmore back into it. 2 1 at the break. The second half started as the first did. Sloppy but it was soon 3 1. Drew found himself in some space and a neat finish . Mark Nolan soon made it 4 with a 25yard free kick into the bottom corner. Avonmore had no response and Luke Walker made it 5 with a cool finish from a tight angle. Avonmore made a few changes and scored soon after. Some messy football by United and almost straight away they nearly scored again but Dean who hadn't much to do brilliantly saved. A ball played forward was intercepted by Tom O'Leary and the lose ball fell to Nolan who set Walker free for his second if the game. Avonmore scored a third but nolan put it beyond them making it 7 3 with his second of the game. All in all a dominating performance to a great start to the season. Skid and Stephen free are delighted with the lads and there attitude. Away to Arklow Celtic next Sunday at 2. Another tough fixture for United. Maximum points gained on the road this season so far.

Arklow Utd u9 stars welcomed Newtown Juniors to the astro pitch at Ferndale this fresh Sunday morning. The packed sideline were treated to a football extravaganza with both sides playing a passing game that was very easy on the eye. Team goals and individual goals were on show with the match played in a friendly spirit. Both teams today should be very proud of themselves for playing such a competitive game in such a fair manner. Today's squad was Callum, Bronagh, Dillon, Fionn, Jonathan, Conor, Stephen, Sean, James, Jake, Alex, Niall and Reece.

Another fantastic turnout for our Nippers Academy this morning. Big thanks to all our school boy managers for helping out with the coaching, a lot of tired little legs after a great session⚽⚽⚽

ARKLOW RNLI launch to assist Stricken sailing vessel Arklow Lifeboat was launched this evening (October 17) following a call for assistance from the crew of a U.K. registered sailing vessel which had suffered mechanical failure. Our volunteer crew was tasked to the scene approximately 12 miles South of Arklow. Arklow Lifeboat proceeded to the reported position of the casualty sailing boat.. Once the yacht had been located, a decision was made to put a lifeboat crew member aboard the 10metre sailing vessel to assist the crew of two.
